Barbara Kaye Dodson Yackie

Barbara Kaye Yackie, 62, Lee’s Summit, Missouri, passed away May 1, 2011 at St. Luke's East Hospital. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. Burial will be at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the chapel. Barbara was born January 10, 1949 in Kansas City, Missouri, to Lowell and Dorothy (Raisbeck) Dodson. She worked for Western Electric, AT&T, and retired from Lucent Technologies. After retirement she returned to work for Lytmos Group, Inc., where she was currently employed. She also volunteered for the Telephone Pioneers where she compiled and edited the newsletter. Her interests included scrapbooking, Cherished Teddies, Boyds Bears, and Longaberger basket collectibles. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include Al Yackie, her husband of 36 years; her two daughters, Kristi Blogumas (Tony), Diane Rauner (Justin); her sister Sandy Anderson (Andy); grandchildren TJ, Shelby, Carson, and Chloe. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, and lifetime friends and family.
