Barbara Ann (Jennings) Brown, age 79, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2022. Barbara was the daughter of Oren Basil Jennings and Lois Maydean Jennings. Barbara was born in North Salem, MO on December 4, 1942 and grew up in Chillicothe, MO graduating from Chillicothe High School in 1960. She followed her passion of nursing and graduated from St. Luke’s School of Nursing in 1963.
She later went on to obtain a Bachelor’s of Science degree and spent 35 years with Western Electric/AT&T as an occupational health nurse retiring in 2003. In her time with Western Electric/AT&T she was responsible for managing 12 medical clinics. In 1963, she happily married William S. Brown and they spent a loving 59 years together. Barbara and William have two children, Krista Brown Sanderson (Scott Sanderson) and Jeff (Hailey) Brown. From their children they were blessed with four grandchildren Lindsey, Cael, Jaydan and Beckham. Barbara loved to spend her time caring for others, including their beloved dogs, cooking, reading, and enjoying her family. You could always rely on her to remind you to “drink more water!” Her children and grandchildren meant the world to her.
She is survived by sister, Beverly Jennings Branaum, and brother, Wesley (Susan) Jennings. A family celebration of life is planned for Saturday, March 26th at 1:00 PM at Newcomer’s Floral Hills Funeral Home located at 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, MO.
