She was born Oct 10, 1954 in Chicago to Esther (Kowalski) and Felix Murawski and grew up with three brothers and sister in south Chicago, graduating from Lourdes High School and then working as an event planner at the University of Illinois.
Arlene and John were married June 4, 1988 and lived in Kansas City throughout their 32 years of marriage.
They were blessed with sons Jack, in 1990, and Paul, in 1992, and welcomed stepdaughter Erin and her sons into their family. Arlene was a loving and supportive wife, always at John’s side, best friends from morning coffee to well-planned vacations. She was a devoted and loving mother who adored her children, never missing a chance to encourage and support them.
The Edelman family often vacationed together, often in their favorite destinations in the northern Midwest. Arlene was a great trip planner, and John, the boys, and frequently Erin and her sons, Carson and Oliver, enjoyed vacations together.
Arlene was also enthusiastic about cooking (especially when it came to Polish food) and gardening, passions which she learned from her mother. She loved flowers and had gardens in both the front and back yards of her home, and always decorated the back deck with pots of colorful flowers.
Arlene is survived by husband John, sons Jack and Paul, stepdaughter Erin and her two sons, brothers Jim, Mark and his wife Jan, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved sister Jane and brother Roger.
