A true light in this world, Anna Marie Morgan––beloved wife, mother and grandmother––passed away Saturday, February 6, at age 84. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her four children: Dan (wife Mindy), Celia (husband Dennis), Dana and Clay III, along with 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 60 years, Clay Jr. The inseparable pair spent an incredible lifetime together, beginning as sweethearts at Lillis High School in Kansas City, MO. They adventured across the country, held hands every day, ate cookies for breakfast, and devoted their lives to each other and their cherished family. They were the ultimate model for a loving marriage.
Anna Marie was born on October 19, 1936, the only child of William H. and Anna Mae Shonborn. She retired after a lengthy career at Midwest Research Institute (MRI Global) as a Hazardous Materials Trainer and eventually Consultant (they missed her so much upon retirement, they talked her into returning in an advisory role).
Anna Marie was the most beautiful example of how to love others. Her permanent smile filled a room. Her positive outlook was infectious. Her selflessness a guide for us all. She was a brilliant sports fan, the life of every party, the first one to wish you a happy birthday, and the most genuine advocate for everyone else's successes and milestones.
Mom, Grandma, Mawie, Anna Marie, we will miss you with all our hearts, but we will never forget the way you took care of us, loved us and made us feel special.
