Wilma, 88, passed away August 9, 2016. A visitation will be Friday, August 12th from 10:00-11:00a.m. with funeral to follow at 11:00a.m. at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Stony Point Baptist Church, 7938 Barnett Avenue, Kansas City, Kansas 66112.
Wilma was born May 5, 1928 in Kansas City, Missouri to Jess and Grace (Ryan) Hicks. She grew up in the Kansas City, Kansas area and moved to Basehor later in life. On May 28, 1950, Wilma married Harlin Ussery. She volunteered her time at Bethany Hospital. In her free time, Wilma enjoyed bowling, camping, vacationing as well as making and teaching ceramics.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harlin; and sister, Virginia Green. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Debbie (Grady) Smith and Ken (Wendy) Ussery; grandchildren, Kenny (Brandy) Smith, Kelly (Brandon) Kanan, and Kevin (Stacy) Ussery; as well as 8 great-grandchildren.
