Ruth Mack Tull, 90, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013 at her home in Kansas City, Kansas. Cremation will be accorded, and no services are planned at this time. Inurnment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Cancer Action.
Ruth was born June 27, 1922 in Mineral Springs, Missouri to Everet L. and Mabel (Owings) Baker. She was raised in the Cassville Missouri Area, but had mostly been a Kansas City Area resident since 1940. She worked at the Fairfax Bomber Plant during World War II, and was an Office Manager for Pan American Insurance Company and John Hancock Insurance Company, before becoming the Secretary for the President of the Cassville School Board, from which she retired in 1981. Ruth was a member of the Merriam Christian Church, as well as the J-Bar-N Square Dance Club. She played basketball in high school, and continued her love of the sport as an avid K. U. Jayhawks Fan. She enjoyed bowling, and sewing, making many quilts, as well as clothing for her family.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Mack when he died in 1981.
Survivors include her husband of 27 years, Ray L. Tull of the home; her daughter, Peggy A. Lowman and husband Lonnie of Basehor, Kansas; her brother, Vern Baker of Belton, Missouri; her sister, Nadine Haddock; 4 grandchildren, including Steven Lowman of Platte City, Missouri; her step-son, Randy Tull of Olathe, Kansas; her step-daughter, LaWanda Albright of Tijeras, New Mexico; and 6 great-grandchildren.
