Rosetta Brown, 83, Kansas City, Kansas met her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 18, 2022 while in the arms of her granddaughter, Rameka Meeks. Rosetta, affectionately known as Rose was born in Port Gibson, Mississippi on February 28, 1939 to the late Lenzy and Beatrice (Johnson) Brown. She was educated through the Claiborne County Public School system and graduated from Claiborne County High School. After graduating she moved to Kansas City, Kansas which became her home.
Rose had various jobs and she was a hard working woman. She was loved by many people. Rose loved the Lord with all of her heart. She was a child of God. Rose professed her belief in Christ at an early age, she united with the Metropolitan Baptist Church under the Leadership of Rev. Robert L. Baynham. Rose maintained a Christian faith throughout her life and a passion to serve the Lord.
Rose was an exceptional mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who cared lovingly for her family. She had a loving personality and a humble heart. She had a quiet, peaceful and loving spirit and a woman of great strength. She enjoyed surrounding herself with family and she shared her kind heart with everyone.
Rose was preceded in death by her father, Lenzy Brown; mother, Beatrice Brown; oldest son, Dexter R. Brown; brothers, Bernard and David Brown; sisters, Katie B. Major and Leuntine Brown.
Rose leaves to always cherish her memory daughters, Sharon Brown and Aundrea A. Trevillion; son, Leavy Trevillion; her adoptive children, Rameka Meeks, Shanga Brown, Kema Meeks and Donnell Hall all from Kansas City, Kansas; siblings, Mary A. Brown, Lucille Bradley both from Kansas City, Kansas, Willie R. Pannell (Johnnie) from Lee’s Summit, MO, Carolynn Buck and Arthur L. Brown both of Port Gibson, Mississippi; 12 grandchildren; over 20 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; special friend, Carlos Byron and a host of nieces, nephews, and many other relatives, church members and friends.
A visitation for Rose will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Chapel Hill - Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, KS 66112. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM, also at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
