Robert Eugene Tevis

Robert Eugene Tevis, 93, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away January 15, 2017 at Brookdale of Rose Hill. Graveside services will be 1:00 pm, Wednesday, January 18th at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112, please meet at the funeral home to drive down to the site.

Robert was born September 1, 1923 in Kansas City, Kansas to Ralph and Alice Tevis. He graduated from Wyandotte High School and served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. Robert worked in elevator maintenance for 38 years, lastly for Dover Elevators, and was a member of Elevator Constructors #12 (IUEC). He shared many years of marriage to Marjorie Tevis before her passing in 2001. Whenever he had a free moment, you could find Robert at a golf course.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marjorie; his siblings, Ralph Tevis, Jr., Lillian Kennedy, and Harold Tevis.

Robert is survived by his brother, Richard Lee Tevis; his sons, Richard Tevis and his wife Carol, and Randy Tevis; his grandchildren, Sean Tevis, and Bridget Haberstroh; and his cousin Linda Quaas. Thanks to Kate McCarty, Laura Irick and Anna Brown for their kind attention to Robert over these years since Marjorie passed.
