Mary Lou Schmalz 87, passed away Friday, October 6, 2023 surrounded by loved ones. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Charles J. Schmalz, her mother Aneta Mead and father Robert Mead. She is survived by her sons John, Michael (Ronda), Richard, Steve (Donna), Marty, Nick (Robbie), Tim (Elizabeth), and Matt. As well as 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, her sister Janet Dillman and her brother Robert Mead III.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 1086 N. 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m with a Rosary to be prayed at 10:45 a.m. Mary will be laid to rest at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, Parallel Pkwy & N 126th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66109.
Serving as pallbearers are John Schmalz, Michael Schmalz, Richard Schmalz, Steve Schmalz, Marty Schmalz, Timothy Schmalz, Nick Schmalz and Matthew Schmalz.
