Joy Roberts, 72, passed away October 1, 2015. Funeral services will be 1:00pm, Friday, October 9th at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., KCK. Visitation will be from noon-1:00pm, Friday, preceding the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 701 N. 94th St., KCK. Joy was born November 18, 1942 in KCK. She grew up in KCK with her parents, Lawrence and Winnifred Hobbs. Joy graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1960. She married Jerry Roberts on September 4, 1970 and enjoyed many years of marriage before his passing in 2004. Joy worked for KCKCC for a time and worked as a legal secretary for forty years at the Offices of both Albert Grauberger and Michael Redmon. Joy also volunteered as librarian for the Kansas City Youth Symphony while her girls were in school. Her greatest joy was spending time with her friends and family and they depended on her for her good advice and her warm heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Winnifred Hobbs; her husband, Jerry Roberts; her daughter, Jennifer Roberts-Howard; her half-siblings, JoAnn Cherrito, Irene Johnson, and Clarence E. Hobbs.
Joy is survived by her daughters, Stacy Holland and her husband Bryan, Kelly Miller and her husband Brian; her son-in-law, Paul Howard; her granddaughters, Victoria, Miranda, and Danielle Holland, and Raechel Miller; her special niece, Ramona Stewart; as well as many other relatives and friends.
