John Wayne Potter

John W. Potter, 65, Kansas City, Kansas passed away January 23, 2018. A visitation will be held from 2-4 PM, Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, Kansas. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 AM, Monday, January 29, 2018 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1086 N. 94th St., Kansas City, Kansas.

John was born on January 26, 1952 in Kansas City, MO. He graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1970. He retired from BPU as Supervisor of Electrical Mapping and Drafting in 2008 after 37 years of service. John was an active volunteer for Water and Light Credit Union now Reliance Credit Union for over 40 years. During this time he contributed by holding various positions including Credit Committee member, Board Vice President and President. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved anything related to automobiles, tractors and collector toys.

John was preceded in passing by his parents, John W. and Daisy Mae Potter and sister, Betty McMillin.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Nancy of Kansas City, KS; daughters, Jennifer (Andrew) Williamson of Shawnee, KS and Kimberly (Joshua) McKinney of Kansas City, KS; and grandchildren, Lauryn, Allyson, Brody and Blake.
