Jerry L. Morgan, 65, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012 at his home in Kansas City, Kansas. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Jerry was born December 2, 1946 in Kansas City, Kansas to Howard C. and Virginia V. (Barr) Morgan, and he was a lifelong area resident, graduating from Turner High School in 1964. He was a Diesel Mechanic for Midway Ford Truck Center for the last 43 years, and he loved working on cars and trucks of all kinds, always helping out his family and friends. Jerry was an Army Veteran of Vietnam, an avid bowler, and he loved mowing and manicuring lawns.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and 1 brother, Ronnie Morgan. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Sylvia L. “Sam” Morgan of the home; 1 son, Bryan S. Morgan (Larisa) of Kansas City, Kansas; 1 daughter, Tracy L. Collins (Andy) of Kansas City, Kansas; 1 twin brother, Larry J. Morgan (Barb) of Lathrop, Missouri; his other brother, Donald W. Morgan (Jan) of Kansas City, Kansas; 1 sister, Patricia Moreno of McLouth, Kansas; and 5 grandchildren, Morgan Collins, Drew Collins, Emily Collins, Ivan Garcia and Ashley Garcia.
