Jack Manny Carothers went peacefully to be with the Lord on the morning of May 21, 2018 at the Kansas City Hospice House. Jack was born December 28th, 1936 to Manny and Mary Carothers in Parkville, Missouri. Jack loved growing up on his parents farm in Parkville, MO with his 3 siblings. He enjoyed spending time with his horse Lady and learned the value of hard work tending to the farm with his father. Jack spent his school years in North Kansas City and graduated from Park Hill High School. Jack gave his life to the Lord in his teen years and served in many church positions as a deacon and usher throughout his life. He leaves a legacy of children and grandchildren who love the Lord and follow his example. Jack met his bride in 1958 during a youth event at Park Hill Baptist Church. They were married the next year on October 24th, 1959 and were married for 58 years. Jack spent his life and career working in the Kansas City area and retired from Tri-State Tank. Jack Manny Carothers was a hard worker and always loved and took care of his family and home. He loved music, cars, and most of all loved the Lord.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Richard Carothers, and sister Marie Osa. He is survived by his wife, Pat Carothers, his sister Judith Hodges, His son Jack Carothers and wife Deby, his daughter Annie Bennett and husband Brad, daughter Amy Sotelo and husband Ricardo. He is survived by 10 grandchildren. Sean Carothers and wife Sarah, Echo Carothers, Matthew Bennett, Nikole Potajac and husband Alex, Melinda Bennett, Natalie Hollister and husband Robbie, Marshall Bennett and wife Haley, Marisa Blunt and husband Kurtis, Alicia Sotelo, and Andrew Sotelo. He is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren Christian, Tyson, and Wyatt.
A visitation will be from 10-11 AM with a funeral service at 11 AM, Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, Kansas. Interment will be immediately following in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
