Ida Nora Miller (Licklider), age 98, of Leawood, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022. Ida was born October 23, 1923 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Lemuel and Nora Licklider. She grew up and lived in Kansas City, KS, moving to Overland Park, KS in 1963. She resided in Colonial Oaks Senior Living since 2019.
Ida was the first born of 8 children in her family. She attended Argentine High School Where she met Harold Lee Miller. They married September 13, 1941, sharing 63 happy years together. They enjoyed time with family and friends, traveling, bird watching, playing cards, and dancing at many venues in the Kansas City area. She enjoyed reading, cooking, movies, singing, and a variety of music.
Ida's greatest joy in life was her family. She was a woman of faith, as long as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She loved life and always had a warm smile and bright disposition. She was a devout and lifelong member of Bethany Lutheran Church.
Ida was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; brothers Raymond and Elmer; sisters Bernice, Barbara Lee, and Shirley; and granddaughter Amanda.
Ida is survived by her daughters Judith Ann of KC, MO, Cheryl Lee (Jerry) Holland of Southport, NC, and Diane Louise (Greg) Fowler of Overland Park, Ks. Ida is also survived by her sisters Linda Johnson and Liz Cole. Along with 1 granddaughter, 3 great-granddaughters, 1 great-grandson, and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Ida will be held Friday, September 16, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Chapel Hill - Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, KS 66112. A funeral service will occur Friday, September 16, 2022 at 2:00 PM, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, KS 66112. A graveside service will occur Friday, September 16, 2022 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112.
Serving as pallbearers are Jerry Holland, Greg Fowler, Randy Fowler, Bill Johnson, Mike Cole and Rick Stewart.
