Gladys Mae Modrell, 79, formally of Basehor, KS., passed away Sunday, December 26, 2010 at Garden Terrace Nursing Home. Gladys was born on November 17, 1931 in Hickory, MO. to Roy and Dora (Miller) McCollum. She graduated from Trenton High School. Gladys was a member of Victory Hills Baptist Church. In her earlier years, she was active in square dancing and ballroom dancing. She was an avid doll collector. Gladys worked 42 years for Sealright Manufacturing Co. in the Fairfax district. She is preceded in death by her parents, two twin baby boys: Donald and David and one brother Roy Oliver McCollum. Gladys is survived by her son: Jerry W. Modrell and his wife Peggy of Kansas City, KS., two grandchildren: Eric Modrell and his wife Josie of Olathe, KS., and Kristy Modrell of Olathe, KS., and one great granddaughter: Lorelei Modrell. Gladys is also survived by her long time companion Bob Miller and one brother: Clarence McCollum and his wife Ruth of Trenton, MO. Funeral services will be 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home. Private burial in Martin Cemetery in Spickard, Mo. Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
