Gerald Francis “Jerry” Rasdall, 91, of Excelsior Springs, MO, formerly of Kansas City, KS, passed away Monday, January 19, 2015 at the Excelsior Springs Convalescent Center. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 23rd at the Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Interment will follow the service in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Gerald was born April 17, 1923 in KCK, to Gerald Fordsman Rasdall and Julia Frances (Ralston) Rasdall. He was a member of the White Church Christian Church, where he served as an Elder, Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent over the years. He was employed at Simmons Company for 38 years, retiring in 1985, from the cutting department. He helped form the Simmons Kansas City Federal Credit Union, serving as Manager-Treasurer for many years. Gerald was a member of the Wyandotte Lodge #3, the Scottish Rite Bodies, the Abdallah Shrine of Overland Park and Victory Hills Golden age.
Gerald was preceded in death by his mother, his father; six brothers, Everett Rasdall, Frank Rasdall, J. Randolph Rasdall, David Rasdall, Clarence Rasdall, and Richard Rasdall; six sisters, Esther Stipancich, Virginia Gilbreath, Margaret Chaplin, Edna Stegmaier, Georgia Edwards, and Inez Brown; and one son-in-law, Thomas Bass. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Mary E. Rasdall, of the home; two daughters, Phyllis Bass of Excelsior Springs, MO and Paula Goodpasture and her husband Marc of Stilwell, KS; one sister, Vivian Allin of Jacksonville, FL; two grandsons, James “Jim” Ferguson, and Terry Bass; three granddaughters, Amy Goodpasture, Allison Goodpasture, and Tammy Bass; one great-granddaughter, Dominique Sharp, and three great grandsons, Jackson Bass, Colton Bass, and Nathan Bass. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and loved by all.
