Frances Clark, 96, of Basehor, passed away August 5, 2015. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm, Friday, August 14th at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 15th at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Basehor Gold PRIDE Scholarship Fund.
Frances was born November 25, 1918 in Mokane, Missouri to Earl Leon and Lulu Belle Crow. She grew up in Missouri and Illinois. Frances married William Louis Clark on May 24, 1938. She worked as a file clerk for Pyramid Life Insurance and was a member of the Shelbyville Senior Citizens group and a charter member of Basehor Gold PRIDE. Frances loved crafts, especially making beaded Christmas ornaments and other items, crochet, handwork, and sewing – she made many outfits for her family over the years. She enjoyed reading, doing crosswords and word-searches, going to auctions and fishing. She was known for her kind and sweet spirit.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Louis Clark, her brother, David Henry Crow, and her grandson, William Louis Clark, II.
Frances is survived by her daughters, Louise Vervaecke of Basehor, LouAnne Mallory, and Sharon Lynne Chartier of New Albany, Indiana; son, John Willis Clark and his wife Linda of Rock Hill, South Carolina; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren with one on the way, and one great-great grandson; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and –nephews and other family members and friends and three furry feline friends.
