Evelyn Leach, 71, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away May 21, 2015 at home. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, May 25th at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 26th at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Evelyn was born June 28, 1943 in Tulare, California to Irving and Thelma McKinney. She worked as a beautician and later for the Champ Motor Sports Company in Edwardsville. Evelyn married Paul Leach in 1979. They were members of a bowling league for over 20 years, and enjoyed going to the casinos and dancing. She loved taking care of her family and she would often be seen sharing a cup of coffee and some gossip with her best friend Dorothy Leach.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Richard Cooper, her step-daughter, Pam Rush, her sister, Mattie Pippins, and her best friend, Dorothy Leach.
Evelyn is survived by her husband of 36 years, Paul Leach; her daughter, Cheri Cooper and Kathy Burdette; her step-children, Charlie Vititoe and Debra Henry; her brother, Fred McKinney; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers- and sisters-in-law, and other friends and family.
