Deborah "Debbie" Lynn Tate

Deborah “Debbie” Lynn Tate of Linwood, Kansas passed away on November 16, 2020. She was 65 years old. A “drive-up” style visitation will take place on Saturday, November 21, 2020 from 9:00-10:00 am at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Come, offer your condolences to Debbie’s family while following social distancing guidelines from the safety of you vehicle. Please use the North entrance to the cemetery. Debbie was born January 9, 1955 in Kansas City, Kansas to Gilbert and Nita (Rensch) Carrico. Following her education, Debbie pursued her career as a nurse for forty years. Debbie was a kind and caring soul, and this showed in the dedication she had for her patients over the years. Debbie was amazingly artistic and astoundingly talented. This creativity showed in her crafting, writing, poetry. In her younger years, a few of Debbie’s stories were published. Debbie and her mother, Nita even shared the creative hobby of homemade doll making, which was Debbie’s idea. Through this and her work, Debbie was one of the most kind and caring woman and she was always doing what she could to make someone else’s day brighter.

On December 27, 1997, Debbie married the true love of her life, Michael Tate. The two first met in 8th grade and dated off and on for a few years before going their separate ways. Once their paths crossed again years later, Michael was not letting Debbie get away again. Debbie was an incredible wife, mother, and grandmother and her family was the most important thing in her life. The family spent numerous vacations together and Debbie enjoyed traveling. Debbie was always so happy, and loved to laugh, and always knew the right thing to say. Debbie was love by so many and will be dearly missed.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Nita Carrico.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 23 years, Michael Tate; daughter, Courtney Chavez and her husband Tony; grandchildren, Alayna, Samuel, and Ava; her brother Dean; and her mother-in-law, Doris Anderson; along with many other family members and friends.
