Barbara Lea Slagle of Olathe, Kansas passed away on September 27, 2021. She was 80 years old. A visitation will be on Monday, October 4, 2021 from 1:00 pm-2:00 pm with a funeral service starting at 2:00 pm, both at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Barbara was born on December 12, 1940 to William and Viola (Saunders) Metz in Kansas City, Kansas. After her education, Barbara worked at Deluxe Check Printers for many years. She was also a member and officer of the IAACP (International Association of Administrative Professionals) starting in 1982. For many years, Barbara was a faithful member of Stony Point Christian Church in Kansas City, Kansas and most recently fellowshipped and was a member of Countryside Church in Olathe, Kansas. Barbara was a woman of many talents and she even played the accordion. She loved her family and friends dearly and she touched the lives of so many people. She will be greatly missed.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, William and Viola Metz; husband, James Slagle; brother, Bill Metz; step-daughter, Deanne Slagle; and nephew, Isom Folsom.
Left to cherish her memory is her stepson, Tony (Debbie) Slagle of South Bend, Indiana; sister, Helen Folsom of Kansas City, Kansas; grandson, Tony Slagle II of South Bend, Indiana; granddaughter, Catherine (Ben) Barney of Skokie, Illinois; nephew, Bill Folsom of Platte City, Missouri; nieces, Belinda Price of Port Ludlow, Washington and Elizabeth Folsom of Kansas City, Kansas; along with many other family members and dear friends.
