AnnaBelle (Storm) Poole, 83, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 19, 2013. She was born August 9, 1929, in Pawhuska, OK to Robert Paul Storm and Charlotte Lorene Irons. Upon graduation from high school in Shidler, OK in 1947, she moved to Independence, MO to live with her grandmother and begin working. AnnaBelle married Amos Poole in 1949, and they began their life together in Kansas City, Kansas, where they continued to reside and raised their five daughters.
AnnaBelle retired from Central Baptist Theological Seminary in 1994, where she had served as executive assistant to several seminary presidents. Following her retirement, she served as church secretary at Victory Hills Baptist where she and Amos were members following that church's merger with Chelsea Baptist. Throughout the years AnnaBelle was active in her local church, as well as the American Baptist Churches USA, serving in many leadership capacities at the local, regional and national level. She was also very involved in American Baptist Women's Ministries, serving as President of the Central Region and Coordinator for the National Conference in Green Lake, Wisconsin.
AnnaBelle was a good bowler and bowled for many years on a church league. She and Amos enjoyed playing bridge and were also avid Chiefs fans. They held season tickets from the time the Chiefs began playing in Kansas City until recent health problems prevented them from attending games. AnnaBelle loved watching all types of sporting events, especially golf. She cherished her time with the monthly "card club" ladies, and we sincerely thank them for all the fun and fellowship they provided to her.
AnnaBelle was preceded in death by her father, mother, husband and brother, Robert Storm, Jr. She is survived by her stepmother, Agnes Storm, Oklahoma City; sister Dorothy Gasper, Washington State; sister Mildred Boland, Oklahoma City; brother George (Karon) Storm, Choctaw, OK; sister-in-law Anna Mae Storm, Washington State, and brother-in-law Ray Poole, St. Louis. She is also survived by her five daughters: Terry Poole, Karen (George) Uzelac, Sandy (Rick) Petty, Mary (Mel) Myer and Amy (DJ) Cook. She was the proud grandmother of nine grandchildren: Kelly (Ed) McGrath, Josh (Mindy) Cook, Lindsey (James) Golubski, Miranda (Rodney) Ashley, Mitchell Myer, Mary Petty, Jessica Cook, Pam Petty and Richie Petty. She was also richly blessed by ten great-grandchildren: Braeden, Brenna and Brock McGrath; Carson and Colton Golubski; Isaac Cook; Brody and Jackson Cook, and Juan and Malena Suarez.
