Velma Leilani (Kahawai) Namahoe, of Kaneohe, passed away on January 9, 2020 at the age of 77. She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. She was a graduate of Farrington High School, Class of 1960. She was a telephone operator with Hawaiian Telephone Company then she worked at Bamboo Shoots Preschool, Chaminade Montessori Preschool and Haiku Hale o Keiki. Later in life she was a caretaker for family members. Velma enjoyed bowling, going to Windward Malls' open market on Sundays and spending time with family and friends.
Survived by the Love of her life, Jerome "Jerry" Nakachi; Daughters, Tay (Rusty) Pundyke, Wendy (Bill) Abilla, Gwen (J) Conway and Tara (Garret) Maeda; Sister: Gwendolyn "Keala" (Fred) Young, Hanai Sister, Linda (Harris) Choy; 12 Grandchildren and 9 Great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Edmond & Marion Kahawai; Sister: Marion "Momi" Purdy and brother, Allen Kahawai.
