Born Torano Castello, Italy December 12, 1931
Died Kamloops, B.C. January 9, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother Lauretta.
She is predeceased by her mother Amalia, father Angelo, brother Aldo, sister Fidia.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years Pietro and children Maria (Richard), Salvatore (Nina), Silvio (Tina) granddaughter Megan (apple of her eye) and many nieces and nephews.
Mother married in Italy and came to Canada in 1958, joining her sister and beginning her own family. Anyone that knew our mother was blessed with her loving generous spirit. She was a woman of many talents with a strong and proud spirit. Her focus was always on family, devoting her heart and soul to that end. Hard-working with endless energy that made most of us tired just watching her. She worked inside and outside the home, retiring from working at RIH. Her workmates and friends made her smile, and her laugh was infectious. She loved to cook, work in her garden and enjoyed the fruits of her labor and sharing them with all those around her. She loved to dance and listen to music and sing along to her favorite songs.
We would like to thank the staff at The Hamlets who treated our mother as one of their own, with love, dignity, and respect. We would be remiss if we did not thank Theresa for her loving care and companionship over this past year. Our mother loved you and totally enjoyed the time she spent with you.
We will miss you everyday and you will forever be in our hearts. Our promise to you dear mother is that we will live every day to the fullest.
Viewing for Lauretta will be from 9:30am to 10:30am prior to the service. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 13 at 11am with Entombment to follow at Hillside Cemetery.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
