It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of our beloved mom, grandma, sister, aunty, cousin, and friend Julie Carriere. Julie passed away peacefully on March 19th, 2024 at 76 years of age, surrounded by her loving family.
Julie was born April 14, 1947 in North Battleford Saskatchewan. Her and her family moved to Calgary, AB in 1952. After graduating high school she worked various clerical jobs before working at the Royal Bank of Canada. She moved to Kamloops, BC in 1971 where she gave birth to her only child Nicole. She continued to work at RBC in Kamloops until she went to work with her mom Vici and Aunty Terri at Vici’s Taylor Shop as a seamstress. Once her granddaughters Adria and Jenna were born she went on to provide childcare for the girls as well as close family friends, Braden and Colby Olson. Julie was loved dearly by all of the children that she cared for, being known fondly as ‘Grandma Julie’ by many.
Grandma Julie was one of a kind. So loving, sweet, kind, giving, funny and special to everyone that had the pleasure of knowing her. Always there when you needed someone to listen, always knew the right thing to say, and was everyone’s biggest cheerleader. She truly was a ray of sunshine. Losing her has been a tremendous loss for us all. Thank you for all the wonderful memories, we will treasure them forever.
She’s sparkling above with her parents Joseph Elie and Mary Victoria Carriere, her brother Charles Carriere (Gail), sister Elize Davies, niece Maureen Carriere and most recently kitty cat AlleyCat.
She will be deeply missed by her daughter Nicole Huser and son in law Dean; her two beautiful granddaughters Adria Rose (Dylan) and Jenna Marie; her loving brother Laurie (Roxanna); her nephew Aaron (Jordan), great nephew Kason; her niece Darcie, great niece Layla and great nephew Waylon; nieces Michelle and Collette; nephew Lawerence; numerous cousins, friends, best neighbours ever, and the best roommate one could ask for Maia Gillard.
Thank you to all the Doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists and care aids at Royal Inland Hospital who cared for my mom. Special thank you to everyone in the ICU.
Join us in celebrating Julie’s life on May 18th, 1pm at The Dunes at Kamloops. 652 Dunes Drive. If you’d like to share a memory of mom or a poem there will be an open mic for us all to share some of our treasured memories.
