Susan Joy Cooney

Sue is survived by her husband, Mike Cooney; her dogs, Aaron Rodgers and Lambeau; her stepchildren, Abigail Cooney, and Matthew Cooney; her mother, Eileen Joy; and her siblings, Janice Waesche, Cheryl Palmer, and Patrick Joy. She was preceded in death by her father, Franklin Joy

Sue was born in Frederick, Maryland on January 25th, 1963. She graduated high school in 1981 and then later graduated with her bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from Towson University. After graduating college, she joined the Air Force and was stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii. Following 4 years of service, she lived in Phoenix, Arizona and later moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she continued her career as an accountant.

She married her husband, Mike, on June 30th, 2007. They lived in Richfield, Wisconsin where Sue enjoyed going on motorcycle rides and cheering on the Green Bay Packers. In 2011, Mike and Sue relocated to Plano, Texas where they spent 9 more years, enjoying visits from friends and family and attending sporting events of all kinds. In fall of 2020, they bought their beach bungalow in Jupiter, Florida, Sue’s favorite vacation spot. There, Sue lived the rest of her life, where she loved walking her dogs on the beach and spending time with her family, friends, and neighbors.

Sue was a fun-loving dog mom who will be remembered for her contagious laugh and her extremely giving personality, always taking care of the people (and animals) around her.

A memorial service for Susan will be held Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Aycock-Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, FL 33458.
