Bob was born and raised in Waterbury, Connecticut, and served in the Army’s Corps of Engineers during the Korean War. After leaving the Army he returned to Waterbury and worked at Hayden Plumbing until the early 1960’s, when he moved his family to Palm Beach County and took a job as a draftsman at Pratt & Whitney. He also worked at RCA, Kings Point, Gee & Jenson and the City of Riviera Beach, and taught drafting at the North Technical Education Center.
Bob was an avid fisherman and spent a lot of time at the little blue heron bridge during mackerel season. After he retired, he turned that hobby into a small business making and selling fiberglass fish. Bob also loved playing pool, and he spent many years doing so at the North County Senior Center in Palm Beach Gardens.
He is survived by his three children, Deborah Brandon of Roswell, Georgia, Greg Mahoney of Tequesta, Florida, and Linda Morrow of Jupiter, Florida; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his youngest son, Thomas Mahoney.
The family is planning a private celebration of life.
