Unbelievable its been 4 years since you've been gone.

Marty will always have a place in my heart.  A wonderful, proud,  generous, gentle giant of a man to many friends and family and loving husband to my sister Dorothy.   He will be missed dearly. 

Writing a memory is such a personal thing & trying to find just one is hard.  Marty was a presence you couldn't ignore.  He would love to push my buttons when he could but he was generous to a fault.  He would give anyone the shirt off his back, ready to jump in and help people if he could. But my fondest memory will always be how he loved my sister Dee.  She always came first with him and she was his love, advocate & rock.  Marty you fought a hard battle but rest easy knowing we will take care of Dee until you are together again.

Uncle Marty was very special to me.  Being as close as I am to my Aunt, he was such a loving husband to her and gave her all of the love and attention that she deserved, which made him special to me immediately.

I loved talking to Uncle Marty, because he and I had the same views on a lot of things and even when we didn't, we loved to debate with each other and carry conversations on for hours. And I loved listening to stories of his past and hearing about his many adventures...He and I had a few adventures ourselves together that I still look back on and smile and laugh!

I  know that he is in a better place now...no more pain or suffering and death is always hardest on the people that are left behind.  But, I will miss him very much and I promise him that I will look over my Aunt Dee and make sure that she is never alone...she will always have her family and me!

I’ve been trying to figure out the best way to say knowing Marty and Dee has been one of the best parts of my life. I met them in 1987 while working for an alarm company for a man who would later be my husband. What great memories we shared, Alaska for 2 weeks in Marty & Dee's wonderful Motor Home, camping where we could see the Beluga Whales and of course bears. Marty was always the one we looked to for protection and many laughs, even when we came back from Halibut fishing and wreaked  of Diesel  fuel and fish, not to mention a little puke. .  I love you Marty for treating me so kindly and for always making me feel like I mattered. Dee, I will always be here for you,  just reach out. My heart is hurting for you but you are one of the strongest women I know and I know Marty is still there guiding you and protecting you as always.  Love Colleen 



Dear Dee,  I will always remember Marty as a caring, wonderful man that is full of stories.  His love for you was very evident.  I loved our adventures together.  He will ALWAYS be remembered with love.

We are so very sorry that Marty passed. He certainly fought a courageous battle for a long time. You were by his side every step of the way caring for him 24/7. He will be greatly missed by all.
