Marc Rice died on October 30, 2017 in Ocean Ridge, Florida. Marc is survived by his mother and father: Annamarie Fidel- Rice and Ralph Rice, his sister Christine Segovia, her husband Bryce and nephew Henry; Uncles Wally and Kent Rice, his Aunt, Ann Corrigan as well as cousins Andrew and Peter Rice.
Marc was born in Wheat Ridge, Co, attended Mullen High School; he was a graduate of the University of Montana. Marc attended Palm Beach State College, earning two Associates Degrees in fields related to fire fighting. He was a licensed EMT and Paramedic. Marc was a proud member of Palm Beach County Fire Rescue Department as a Firefighter/ Paramedic. He was top recruit in his class at the Department’s fire academy. Marc loved his job; it was a true avocation. The principles of service, duty and respect all made sense. Honor, tradition and brotherhood. Marc was loved and respected by his fellow fighters. PBCFR held a formal memorial in his honor on November 6. It was attended by hundreds of his brothers and sisters within the fire service as well as friends from Southern Florida.
Marc loved life: travel, hiking in the high mountains and skiing. He loved the ocean and spent many hours snorkeling, diving and fishing. Most of all, Marc loved his family. He traveled monthly to Colorado to spend time with family, especially his nephew Henry to whom he was devoted.
Marc was a brute of a man with a heart of gold. He was kind; generous with his time and his love.
A private memorial will be held in Colorado. He will be buried at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
