Linda was born July 13, 1948 in Bronxville, NY to the late Cosmio “Gus” Capasso and Rose LaManna Capasso. Growing up with 10 siblings, nothing was more important to Linda than family. After attending Roosevelt High School in Yonkers, NY, she decided to focus on starting her own family. She began raising the first of her four children, Michelle and Jay, in Westchester County, NY, before moving to South Florida with her beloved husband of 39 years, Dennis Dempsey. They ultimately settled into Jupiter, FL where they resided for 38 years. Together, they raised two more children, Dennis Jr. and Jennifer, while Linda supported Dennis through his various entrepreneurial businesses. In addition to her strong love for family, Linda was passionate about travelling and cruising around the world. She also loved to cook and never disappointed with any of her meals, especially her legendary Italian meatballs with sauce and meatloaf.
Linda is survived by her husband Dennis; children: Michelle Williams of Fishkill, NY, Jay Roberts of Cornelius, NC, Dennis (Betsy) Dempsey, Jr. of New York, NY, Jennifer (Joseph) Lancaster of Jupiter, FL and step-daughter Kelly (Frank) Carpentieri of LaGrangeville, NY; grandchildren: Jimmy and Jordan Pulver, Frank Jr., Sienna, Kendra, and Jessa Carpentieri, Carson Roberts, and Dylan Dempsey; great grandson James Pulver III; siblings: Jeannette Roberts of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Barbara (Robert) Valentine of Valhalla, NY, Patricia Variara of Poughkeepsie, NY, Joseph Capasso of Patterson, NY, Donald (Harriet) Capasso of Yonkers, NY, Thomas Capasso of Jupiter, FL, Gary Capasso of Hobe Sound, FL, Lawrence (Karen) Capasso of Yonkers, NY and Michael (Keri) Capasso of Mahopac, NY. Linda also leaves many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and a circle of friends as big as her family. She was predeceased by her brother Richard in 1972.
Visitation with the family will begin on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Aycock-Riverside Funeral & Cremation Center from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a Prayer Service to be held at 5:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1701 Indian Creek Parkway, Jupiter, FL 33458. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park, 19351 SE County Line Road, Tequesta, FL 33458 at 11:30 am.
