Kathleen Hees passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2012, the direct result of a fall a few days earlier which had caused massive head trauma. She was 67 years old.
Kathy was born in Clawson, Michigan on November 9, 1944, daughter of Thomas Harry Stickney and Garnet Widgren Stickney, where she spent most of her youth in Plymouth, Michigan, and attended and graduated from Plymouth High School.
In 1984, she married Ron Hees and moved to Gaylord, Michigan, to the community of Michaywe, where the couple enjoyed friendships and golf while she helped her husband with his several business interests: in 1987 they acquired a residence in Florida and spent the last several years splitting time between the two states.
Kathy’s bright, sweet disposition and loving smile brought her many lifelong friends and these, along with her daughter Cherie, were the joys of her life. She always had time for any and all of them.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Ron, a brother, Michael Stickney of Howell, Michigan, and daughter, Cherie Pizzala, of Vanderbilt, Michigan, along with many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives.
Her wishes were to be cremated; there will be no funeral but arrangements will be made for memorial services both in Florida and Michigan at sometime later in the year. In lieu of flowers or other gifts, it is suggested that anyone wishing to make a contribution in her name may do so through either (a) Hospice of Pam Beach County, 5300 East Avenue, West Palm Beach, Florida, 33407 or (b) Hospice of Michigan, 400 Mack Avenue, Detroit, Michigan, 48201.
Arrangements entrusted to Aycock Funeral Home, Jupiter.
