Kathleen E. Gildemeyer of Tequesta passed away peacefully in the comfort of her own home surrounded by her children. She danced into heaven with the Love of her Life Martin J Gildemeyer Sr, husband of 47 ½ years while listening to their wedding song. Kathleen was born on August 1, 1945, in Fulton, NY to Leo and Alice Murphy. She graduated from Oswego Catholic High school in 1963 then went on to Nursing School at St Joseph’s School of Nursing graduating with Honors in 1965. Soon after graduation, she met Martin and they married on November 19, 1966.
They moved from Syracuse to Jupiter, Florida in 1969 where they raised their five children. Kathy was a dedicated nurse for Jupiter Medical and Jupiter Pavillion for over 25 years. She was wise, made people laugh, and was no-nonsense. She was magical.
Kathy was an avid reader, inspiring writer as she loved to journal, played mahjong and canasta, loved music and if music wasn’t playing in her home, game shows were. Kathy loved to travel and she and Marty traveled to Europe which she forever shared stories with her grandchildren. Kathy loved the Jupiter Lighthouse and she volunteered at the Lighthouse Museum. She was happiest around her family and friends and will be deeply missed.
Kathy will be dearly missed and forever loved by her three daughters Kathleen (Ronald) Fulginiti of Buford, Ga; Christina (Robert) Oliveras of Boynton Beach; Kimberly Thomson of Palm Beach Gardens and two sons; Martin J Gildemeyer Jr. (Shelley) of Flowery Branch, Ga. and Michael Gildemeyer (Babette) of Tequesta. Also remembering her with love are fifteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and Kathy’s brother and sister Micheal Murphy and Jean (Byron) Smith.
Kathy has joined her family in heaven, Martin J Gildemeyer (2014), sister Eileen McMillian (2014), grandson Sean Thomson (2012).
Services will not be held at this time. A celebration of Kathy's life will take place in Florida once it is safer.
