87, of Juno Beach and resident of The Waterford passed away on December 18, 2012.
Dr. Mulherin served his country in the US Army from 1944-1946. He was a Metallurgist for the US Army. For most of his career, Dr. Mulherin worked at the Frankfort Arsenal and Picatinny Arsenal in New Jersey. In 1975, he received the Army Research and Development Award for his work on the application of fracture mechanics to munitions material.
Dr. Mulherin is survived by his wife Alice G. Mulherin; Son Joseph H. Mulherin of Flemington, NJ; grandchildren Peter, Emily and Olivia Mulherin; Brothers Francis Mulherin of Scranton, PA, Gerard Mulherin of Fairfax, VA, Paul Mulherin of Williamsburg, VA, Dennis Mulherin of Tustin, CA, and Brian Mulherin of Huntington Beach, CA. He was preceded in death by sisters Joan, Thelma, and Carol.
Memorial Mass will be said at the Waterford on Friday, December 21st at 11:30 am.
