John Patrick Jacupke was born October 27, 1954 to Jerry and Helen Jacupke. John’s family lived in Hastings, Nebraska where he attended Hastings Public Schools and graduated from Hastings Senior High in 1973. The following fall, John enrolled in the University of Nebraska where he was active in Beta Theta PI Fraternity, as well as in sports and social activities. After four and a half years, he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree.
Following graduation, he stayed in Lincoln where he was employed by IBM. Four years later John’s interest in investments led him to accept a position with E.F. Hutton and Co. in North Palm Beach, Florida. After Hutton’s demise, John continued in investments. For many years, until his death, he was a Registered Investment Adviser and Financial Planner, affiliated with Raymond James financial Services in North Palm Beach, Florida.
He was married to the former Lorraine Bauer. After seven years the couple divorced.
Despite a busy schedule he found time for other interests: his beloved Nebraska family, gardening, cooking, entertaining, drawing, music, sports, and participation in The Kind Foundation, the PGA Foundation Board and private philanthropies.
