Helen I. Neer

Helen Irene Neer passed away peacefully on January 19 at her residence at Clare Bridge in Venice, FL. She was born on January 9, 1920 in Noel Missouri. She had recently celebrated her 95th birthday with friends and family.

Helen enjoyed travel, dancing, gardening, crocheting, knitting and crafts. She was a long time member of 210 Moose Lodge. She touched everyone who knew her with her kindness, her warmth and her sense of humor. One of her favorite sayings was “I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck.” She was like a second parent to her grandchildren and passed along many life lessons to her extended family.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Lyle Neer. She leaves behind two daughters: Judi Johnson and Pam Neer; 5 grandchildren: Scott (Maryann) Neer, Lisa (Brian) Weindorf, Todd Velez, Dain Velez, and Kim Battaglia; 11 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at Aycock Funeral Home, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, FL 33458, from 10-11 am on Friday, January 23, with services following.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Tidewell Hospice, 1144 Veronica St, Port Charlotte, FL 33952, or to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
