Francis G. (Frank) Miller, 91, formerly of Latrobe, died peacefully on November 3, 2024, at his home in Jupiter, Florida. Frank was born in Spangler, PA on July 11, 1933; the son of the late Amandus Valentine Miller (born 1881) and Annie Sunderland (born 1889).
Frank was a Penn State Mining Engineer who spent the first half of his career with Heyl & Patterson, Bethlehem Steel and Marmon Coal Company and since 1990, as a partner in two businesses with his eldest son. During his career, Frank was granted two patents related to processing fine coal for which he received the Blue Ribbon Mining Award. Prior to being graduated from PSU, Frank served in the Army at Fort Bragg and Fort Leonard Wood from May 1953 through May 1955. He was a member at Latrobe Country Club where he enjoyed the golf and comradery for more than forty years. Frank was an avid PSU football fan who enjoyed talking football with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by eleven siblings; Joseph, Rembrandt, Arthur and James Miller, Winifred (Bradford), Eileen (Kelly), Evelyn (Lantzy), Mary (Buck), Elda (Weber, Krumenacker), Doris (Stossel), and Edith (Bradford).
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, June Lambour; three children, Brian (Suzanne), Lori Sullivan (Jim Ehret) and Darrin; five grandchildren, Matthew (Marci), Christopher, Catherine, Luke and Kyle and two great grandsons, Ryan and Tyler.
The family would like to express a heartfelt 'thank you' to our in-home caregivers for the compassionate care of our Husband and Father.
