Dr. Francis D. Darling, a beloved husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and respected medical professional, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2024, in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. He was 87 years old.
Born on October 12, 1936, Dr. Darling led a life marked by dedication, kindness, and generosity. He was a true mentor and role model to his family, friends, and colleagues. A proud alumnus of Michigan State University, Dr. Darling was an avid Spartan fan, regularly attending football and hockey games.
Dr. Darling was preceded in death by his first wife, Connie Darling and his sisters, Betty (Howard) Kramer and Eleanor (Jake) Schaibly.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ursula Darling; his sister, Shirley (Clenton) Goad; his children, Thomas (Madonna) Darling and Kimberly Darling-Seitz; and his stepchildren, Stephanie (Reynolds) Kosloskey. Dr. Darling was also a cherished grandfather to Tara (Nicholas) Fillinger, Nicole Darling, Mickey Frisbie, and Jamie Frisbie, and a proud great-grandfather to four great-grandchildren.
Dr. Darling's professional life was distinguished by his dedication to the field of obstetrics and gynecology. Throughout his career, he delivered thousands of babies and was highly respected by his peers and patients alike. His commitment to his profession was evident in the care and compassion he showed to every patient.
Beyond his medical career, Dr. Darling had a rich and varied array of interests. He enjoyed playing bridge, golfing, bowling, and collecting coins. He had a passion for horses, boating and snowmobiling at Gun Lake, as well as traveling, embracing life with enthusiasm and joy.
Dr. Francis D. Darling's legacy is one of love, dedication, and service. He touched countless lives through his medical practice and personal kindness. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
