In 1955, Carlos was born to his proud Mother and Father, Gaetano and Lilia. He had a happy childhood growing up in Caracas, Venezuela alongside his three siblings, Pedro, Arnaldo and Gioconda. As a young boy, he loved to explore the beach and mountains, a love he would later share with his wife and family.
At the age of 21, he decided to further his education and move to the United States, a decision that would forever change his life. Six months after arriving in the US, he met and quickly fell in love with Dawn, his wife of 41 years. On their first date while slow dancing, after their first kiss, their eyes locked and Carlos said, “I knew it was love at first sight”.
Dawn describes her and Carlos’ life together as one big passionate roller coaster ride. Of course there were peaks and valleys, but their life together was full of joy, laughter and thrills. They built a home together that was founded in faith and respect, and their love blossomed into their family of 16 – daughter Michelle and son-in-law Robert, son Carlos, daughter-in-law Erika and grandchildren Kaylie and Nicholas, daughter Kristin, son-in-law Justin and grandchildren Mason, Noah and Oliver and daughter Regina, son-in-law Timothy and grandchildren Ava, Joseph and Thomas Charles. Pride could always be found in his eyes and heard in his voice when he spoke of his family.
Carlos also took immense pride in his Italian and Venezuelan roots and in becoming a United States citizen. His dedication to supporting his family led him to his successful 26-year career with the Federal Government. His loyalty and passion was evident to all those he worked with and his many commendations were proof of the respected reputation he earned among his colleagues.
Faith and family meant the world to Carlos. You are missed so much more than words can ever express, but we know your soul has found peace and comfort in the glory of our Lord.
We love you always and forever.
