Anthony was born in Kingston Jamaica on January 5th 1952 to Gerald & Doris Hurge. After completing high school he went on to join Jamaica Defense Force. While in JDF, he meet his wife of 41 years, Patricia. After spending 14 years in JDF, he migrated to the states in 1983. He worked at Pan Am as a Crew Chief, then to Burdines as a delivery man, then to his last job in which he truly loved as “The Milk Man” at McArthur/ T.G. Lee Dairy where he drove the trailers. In 2007, Anthony suffered a major work accident that indeed change his life forever but never his personality or spirit.
Anthony loved football, cricket & a good game of domino. He also loved to watch American football, boxing, & basketball. Before his work accident, he loved to do landscaping & gardening. Because he loved driving so much, he picked up a second job working as a bus driver working at Walt Disney World that according to him, he’s just having fun. He also loved spending time with family & friends.
Anthony is survived by his wife Patricia. His children: Ingrid Hurge, Georginia Hurge Schutte; Anthony C Hurge; Damian Hurge; Sarnia Hurge; Jacqueline Hurge. His brother-in-laws who he considers his brothers Paul McKoy, Lloyd Darby & Koywell McKoy. His sister Elaine (Peggy) Terrelonge. His brother George Hurge. His grandchildren: Gabriel Hurge; Aranda, Aaron & Milan Hurge; Toni-Kay, Prince & Zaire Hurge; Amui Gayle, Natalya Nembhard, Cameron Richards & Nahleigha Hurge. And his nieces, nephews, cousins & plenty friends and family. Anthony was predeceased by his parents Gerald and Doris Hurge, his brothers Errol & Ardley Hurge. His mother-in-law who he considered as his mother Overil McKoy & his brother-in-laws who he considered his brothers Morris & Ivan McKoy.
Anthony’s family will host a celebration of his life on Saturday, July 1st, 2023 at 11am. The viewing will be on Friday, June 30th, 2023 from 6pm till 9pm. All services will be held at Aycock-Riverside Funeral Home in Jupiter, Florida. Streaming of his celebration on Saturday will be conducted on YouTube: https://youtube.com/@stephaniehurge8653 .
