It is taking us a little while to wrap our hearts around the fact that our beloved Albert Shotwell, husband, father, brother, friend is no longer physically with us on this earth. He passed away peacefully on April 5th 2023, surrounded by his family.
His greater than life faith, intelligence, personality, sense of humor, generosity and love for his family will be missed forever.
Al enjoyed life to the fullest and always had a solution to whatever speed bump life put in front of him.
He was known for his infectious laugh and sense of humor, respected for his incredible work ethic and strategic mind and was also an inspiration to many, for his compassion and generosity toward others.
Al lived his life to the absolute fullest, never giving what he would call a "cheese sandwich" effort. He often used lessons and phrases like this to encourage his kids, friends and anyone who would listen! And giving 100% effort is exactly what he did every moment of his life.
With all of Albert's passions, ranging from cooking to history to travel and adventure, Al could and would engage with anyone who would listen, making friends everywhere he went. If you left him alone for too long, you would always come back to him talking with a new friend.
Albert is survived by his loving family, wife Anna, and children Christopher, Julia and Douglas. As well as his loving sister Kathy Carter, who will all miss him dearly.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Colorectal Cancer Alliance (https://www.ccalliance.org/).
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.aycockfuneralhomejupiter.com for the Shotwell family.
