Rose A. Punke

Rose Ann Punke, age 69 of Hampton, GA passed away on August 23, 2021. She was born to the late Philip and Mary Janaszak in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on December 9, 1951. Rose enjoyed her many years of marriage and raising her five children. Throughout her life she has held many different positions at many different places including Ford Motor Company in Atlanta GA and Louisville, KY where she worked for 25 years.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents; Philip J. and Mary S. Janaszak and her brother; Philip G. Janaszak.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband; Charles Punke, her children; Joan (Elton) Todd, Jacob Punke, John Punke (Katie Wren), Joseph Punke and Jessie Punke, her five grandchildren; Tyler, Elizabeth, Candace, Emilie and Olivia and her seven siblings; Karen Sasek, Theresa Williams, Phyllis Brown, Francis D. Janaszak, Helen Mihal, James L. Janaszak and David M. Janaszak.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be made to some of Rose’s favorite charities instead. She was very generous and donated to at least 9 charities that I know of. Three that you may consider are:

The St Vincent de Paul Society- an international organization of laymen and women inspired by the Gospel to provide direct service to the poor.

Santa Ana Parish- This is the sister parish in Honduras to the Punke and Todd Parish in Jonesboro, Georgia. The purpose is to bond the St. Philip Benizi and Santa Ana parishes so that each may experience the realities of the other's lives and cultures on religious, cultural, political, social, and economic levels. The major emphasis is to foster mutual understanding and commitment to peace, justice and relationship building. Rose and Jessie make rosaries to give to the people of Santa Ana.

The purpose of the St. Philip Benizi Parish Endowment Fund is to provide support for the general Mission of the parish. Recommendations are made by the Endowment Committee and approved by the Pastor. Endowment Funds enhance the financial stability of the parish for the future.
