Bob enjoyed time with his family and friends and their door always did swing on “Welcome” hinges. He loved yard sales, playing guitar, and playing chess as well as telling jokes and making people laugh. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing horseshoes and playing poker.
Bob is preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Frances Whitmire; son, Billy Lee Whitmire; brothers, James Whitmire, Thomaas D. Whitmire, Charles Whitmire, and Jack Whitmire; and sister, Barbara Wilson.
He is survived by his son, Robert Lee Whitmire, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Patricia A.Whitmire; granddaughter, Lora Ashley Whitmire; sister-in-law, Susie Daniels as well as a multitude of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Bob’s life will be held at a later date.
