Born in Meigs county he was the son of Lula and Lawrence Oxley. His first career was spent working at Western Electric. Mr. Oxley went on to serve in the United States Navy as a Machinery Repairman on the USS Fulton . He finished his career with CSX Railroad Engineering as a Roadmaster. He was a 32nd Degree member of Utica Masonic Lodge, Licking 291 and Harrisonville 411. Also a member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Cambridge.
A loving husband, father, and most of all Pappy. He loved and was so very proud of his 3 grandkids, Jordann, Lauren and Calvin they meant the world to him. He loved hunting, listening to his bluegrass music, maintaining "the farm" with the help of his family, friends, neighbors and animals, Zeke and Maggie.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Oxley and daughter, Lori Oxley, grandkids, Jordann, Lauren and Calvin Hurt. Siblings, Daniel Oxley (Verna) of Pataskala, Susie Amos (Rubin) and Dorothy Davis (James) of Orient, Dale Oxley (Debbie) of Pataskala, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Brother, Gary (Marvena), Lexington, South Carolina, David Oxley, Whitehall, James Lawrence Oxley.
Funeral Service will be conducted on Monday, June 10th, 2024 at Crouse- Kauber- Fraley Funeral Home, 225 N Main St., Johnstown, Ohio 43031 with burial to follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Johnstown, Ohio.
Visitation on Monday, June 10th, 2024 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., service to follow.
