Wilma "Bill" Hyder, age 93, of Johnson City, TN, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 24, 2025 at the Lakebridge Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Carter County, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Kate Bowers. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Hyder; two sons, David Allen Hyder and Johnny Hyder; one brother, John Morrell; and one son-in-law, Richard Gray.
Wilma was a member of Glenwood Union Baptist Church in Jonesborough. She loved going to church and being around her church family. She loved working crossword puzzles, coloring, working outside especially in her yard and flowers.
She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Judy Gray, and Shelia Shell and husband Gary; two granddaughters, Sherry Bowman and husband Steve, and Judy Gail White; three great grandsons, Brett White, Jeremy Bowman and Jared Bowman and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 28, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Monte Vista Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor Scott Trent and Pastor Lenny Smith officiating. Committal Service and Interment will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, March 29, 2025 in the Garden of Sermon on the Mount at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family would like to express their thanks to the staffs of Amedisys Hospice and Lakebridge Healthcare for all the love and care that was shown.
