He was born July 3, 1933 in Rices Landing, a son of the late J. Randolph and Ruth Adamson Bayard.
Mr. Bayard was a 1951 graduate of Jefferson High School.
He served in the United State Army during the Korea War.
Mr. Bayard worked with West Penn Power from where he retired.
He was a member of Hewitt Presbyterian Church, Rices Landing, the American Legion Post #400, Carmichaels, the Veterans of Foreign Wars #3491, Carmichaels, the Moose Lodge #461, Waynesburg, F & AM Lodge #153, Waynesburg, Uniontown Lodge of Perfection and the Pittsburgh Consistory.
On September 24, 1960 he married Mary Ferrell, who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Rita (Sean) Shea of Carmichaels; three grandchildren, Paige, Liam and Taggart Shea; a sister-in-law, Margaret Bayard of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a brother, Jack Bayard.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, in the Behm Funeral Homes Inc.1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 9, 2015, with the Rev. Geoff Rach officiating. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg. Military Rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post #400 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3491 both of Carmichaels.
