He was born November 24, 1931 in Jefferson, a son of the late Edward and Thelma Vernon Lemley.
Lefty, as he was known, was a retired coal miner form CONSOL Coal Company and had worked mostly at Moundsville, WV.
He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America and Sons of the American Legion Post #3, Moundsville. He was also an avid sportsman, who loved to hunt and fish.
On February 6, 1951 he married Bonniegail Rogers, who survives.
Also surviving are five daughters, Hope Hall of Moundsville, WV, Bonnyrae (Charles) Mamula of St. Clairsville, OH, Sharon Lyon of Wind Ridge, Sandra Lemley of Moundsville, WV, Paula (Chuck) Medlen of Wind Ridge; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; a brother, Melvin Lemley of Jefferson; a sister, Sandy Lesko of Jefferson; and a special “brother” Thomas FDR Rogers of North Carolina.
Deceased are a son, Raymond V. Lemley Jr.; and two brothers, Edward Lemley and Howard Lemley.
Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 13, 2018, the hour of services in the Behm Funeral Home, 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg.
