Margaret P. Polen Bayard

She was born August 5, 1931 in Ryerson Station, a daughter of the late Fred L. and Hazel Cunningham Polen.

Margaret was a 1949 graduate of Richhill Township High School and was a homemaker.

She was a member of Hewitt Presbyterian Church, Rices Landing and a former member of the Order of Eastern Star #135, Waynesburg.

Margaret was fondly called “Mammy” by her grandchildren.

On October 21, 1950 she married Jack A. Bayard, who died April 8, 1989.

Surviving are four children, Susan Bayard of Washington, Sally Menges and her husband James of Vestal, NY, Randy Bayard of Naples, FL, and Rebecca Smith and her husband David of Wilmington, NC; nine grandchildren, Benjamin Bayard, Emily Eppinger, David Wolf, Andrew Wolf, Lauren Menges, Meghan Briggs, Madeleine Menges, Cameron Broadwater, and Natalie Broadwater; four great grandchildren, Forrest, Oliver, and Lyon Eppinger, and Penelope Broadwater.

Deceased are two brothers, Roger Polen and Richard Polen.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 26, 2017, in the Behm Funeral Home, 1477 Jefferson Rd., Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hewitt Presbyterian Church, 1206 Crucible Rd., Rices Landing, PA 15357, with the Rev. William Bradford Davis officiating; followed by entombment in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg.
