She was born December 4, 1924 in Jefferson, a daughter of the late Frank and Edna Hewitt Craft.
She was a graduate of Jefferson High School.
On June 24, 1944, she married Charles E. Murray Sr., who died November 14, 1986.
Mrs. Murray was a homemaker. She resided most of her life in Jefferson, until moving to Fredericksburg, Virginia in 2001.
Jean was a member of the Jefferson Presbyterian Church, the Jefferson Volunteer Fire Co. Auxiliary, the Order of the Eastern Star, and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Surviving are a son Kurt L. Murray of Fredericksburg, VA; three grandchildren, Andrea Erickson (Kyle) of Woodford, WV, Brandon Murray of Fredericksburg, VA., and Carrie Murray of Morgantown, WV; one niece and three nephews.
Deceased are a son, Charles E. Murray Jr. and a sister, Ruth Craft Braddy.
