James was born in Crucible, PA on December 14, 1947 to the late John and Anna Sabol Shefcheck. He graduated from Carmichaels High School in 1965. He served in the U.S. Army. He married Linda Blackington on June 19, 1971. He was a member of the American Legion Post 400 in Carmichaels. He retired from FTMSA in Murraysville, PA in 2010.
James is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda Blackington Shefcheck; 2 sons, Kevin Shefcheck (Sandra) and Steven Shefcheck (Julia); 4 grandchildren, Abigail, Adam, Magdalene, and Caroline Shefcheck; brother, Jack Shefcheck (Diana); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4 PM to 8 PM on Tuesday, November 22 at Behm Funeral Home, 1477 Jefferson Rd., Jefferson, PA 15344. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, November 23 at St. Marcellus Catholic Church, 1340 Jefferson Rd., Jefferson, PA 15344. Interment to follow at Greene County Memorial Park in Waynesburg.
