She was born to Michael H. and Sharon H. Ingle on Dec. 22, 1961, in Haleyville, Alabama.
Tonya was a graduate of T. W. Martin High School, Walker College and the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She practiced as a registered nurse for 30 years, where she made many lifelong friends. Tonya loved being a wife and mother to Bobby and Holly and loved serving the Lord in missions with children and teens.
Tonya was preceded in death by her father, Michael H. Ingle; husband, John H. Thompson; and grandparents, Hobart A. and Oma K. Ingle and Lewis W. and Elizabeth B. Duke.
She is survived by her loving husband, Robert M. “Bobby” Hand, and precious daughter, Holly Kathryn Hand, both from Jasper; mother, Sharon H. Farris of Jasper; sister, Terri I Sudberry (Johnny) of Jasper; nieces, Molly M Sparkman (Nate) of Mobile and Chloe N Hii (John) of Hammond, Louisiana; stepsons, Michael J. Hand of Northport and Brent D. Hand (Selena) of Jasper; grandchildren, Lexi and Hudson Hand of Jasper; and a host of family and friends.
Family will receive friends today, Nov. 24, 2018, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m., with burial at New Prospect Cemetery. There will be no graveside service. Howard Thompson and David Byrd will officiate.
