Tommy Dale Johnson

Graveside service will be held Monday, November 23, 2020, at 2 p.m., at Walker Memory Gardens, with Kilgore-Green Funeral Home directing. Britton Creel will officiate.

Tommy was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the outdoors. His favorite place was at the family farm in Townley. He enjoyed Alabama football. He was still employed with Alabama Power as lead lineman and in March 2021 would have been employed 50 years. He was a mentor to many of his young co-workers. Tommy was a robust man and he had a heart as big as he was. He loved his family and enjoyed the family get togethers at the farm. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lura Johnson and Florence Studdard Johnson, and mother-in-law, Eunice Rutledge.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Gail Darty Johnson; son, Logan Johnson (Morgan); brother, Dr. Steve Johnson (Linda); sisters, Patty Poe (JC) and Pam Johnson (Ricky Clements); in-laws, Hugh Darty (Donna) and Earnie Darty (Brenda) and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be Alabama Power co-workers.
